1. The Saints don't geaux 14-0. Bummer. I's sad feaux mah Saints. *sniffles* But 13-1 ain't nothin' to sneeze at, bitches.
2. I got some Christmas shopping done today so I've got maybe 1 or 2 more gifts to buy, which I will do Sunday afternoon. I REFUSE to be out shopping for anything other than my Christmas ham on Christmas Eve.
3. Right after my shopping, I had lunch with my friend JG, who had lived in Michigan the past 10 years until she moved back to Madison a couple months ago. She's two years younger than I am, has never been married, is taller and somewhat heavier than the last time I saw her (maybe 6 or 7 years ago?), and still a bit, well, odd. I'm not sure how else to phrase it. She still yells HELLO into the phone when you call her, and while I was talking with her at lunch, telling her something that wasn't sad or weird, she kept shaking her head sideways and squinting, almost like a physical tic. It made me wonder whether she has an undiagnosed neurological condition. The irony is that she's a doctor (med school graduate, though she never finished a residency that I know of, so she's not certified like most doctors). Anyway I enjoyed our lunch and I invited her to see THE LOVELY BONES with me and some friends of mine; I thought it would be released over the holidays, but now I see on IMDB that it won't be in general release until January 10th. Phooey.
4. Mr. Annearchy and I have decided that we probably need to replace the water softener in our utility room, and possibly the laundry tubs and associated faucets as well. We're pretty sure that because the water softener doesn't "regenerate" automatically any more, the ridiculously hard water that goes into the water softener has done a number on the plumbing. The pipes are impossibly limed up, and we're just not capable of fixing / replacing them ourselves. I guess I should ask around for recommendations of local plumbers.
5. ATONEMENT finally popped up on our Netflix queue tonight. Now I understand why so many of y'all loved it.
Okay, gotta get up in 6 1/2 hours. Night, peeps!
